“The definition of facilitate is “to make easy” or “ease a process”. What a facilitator does is plan, guide and manage a group event to ensure that the group’s objectives are met effectively, with clear thinking, good participation and full buy-in from everyone who is involved.”
The purpose of this online class is to help you feel more comfortable in your role as a facilitator. Tools and strategies to improve your facilitation skills will be included along the way. This training will help you think about the elements that are necessary in starting and sustaining a group.
Sections cover logistics of starting a group, ongoing administrative tasks, group dynamics, planning, resources, and media information.
This course is designed for facilitators of peer led groups and for facilitators of professionally operated or affiliated groups. It is a self-paced course that includes feedback and discussion with other support group facilitators and a BEST Support Group Coach.
